1. Who We Are

Ottoman Studio (the "App") is a mobile application that transforms user-uploaded photos into historical Ottoman-era character portraits using AI. The App is operated by an individual developer. Contact: yds5000kelime@gmail.com.

2. Data We Collect

2.1. Photos You Upload

To use the App, you select a photo from your device (camera or gallery). This photo transits our proxy server (Cloudflare Workers) and our AI provider (fal.ai) only for the duration of the transformation.

• Our proxy server never writes photos to disk — they exist only in transient memory (RAM) and are released as soon as the request completes.
• Our AI provider fal.ai may briefly retain processing results for queue access (up to 24 hours maximum), after which the data is permanently deleted.
• The generated portrait is saved to your device's gallery only if you choose to save it. No copy is kept on our servers.

2.2. Automatically Collected Data

When you request a photo transformation, our proxy uses your IP address as a temporary abuse-prevention counter within a one-hour rolling window. After the hour, the counter resets; your IP address is not stored or shared for any other purpose.

2.3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Account information (name, email, phone, date of birth) — no account is required.
• Location data.
• Device identifiers (IDFA/AAID), cookies, or ad trackers.
• Analytics or usage metrics (we do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, PostHog, Mixpanel, or similar).
• User behavior or interaction data.

3. Face Data Specifically

We treat photos containing your face as sensitive data and want to be explicit about how they are handled.

3.1. What face data the app collects

The single photo you select to transform (typically containing your face). The app does not perform face recognition, biometric identification, identity verification, emotion analysis, or demographic profiling on the photo. The face is preserved by the AI image model only as a visual element being restyled into an Ottoman-era portrait.

3.2. How face data is used

The selected photo is sent through our Cloudflare Workers proxy to fal.ai (our AI inference partner), where the OpenAI gpt-image-2/edit model produces an Ottoman-era stylized portrait. This single inference is the only use of your photo. The output portrait is returned to your device.

3.3. Third parties the photo is shared with

• Cloudflare Workers — proxy server. The photo exists only in transient memory and is never written to disk.
• fal.ai (Fal AI Inc.) — AI inference partner. The photo is uploaded so the AI model can run, then is deleted within 24 hours per fal.ai's data policy.

Photos are not shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party. We do not sell or monetize your photo.

3.4. Retention

• Ottoman Studio servers: 0 — the photo is never stored by us at any point.
• fal.ai: up to 24 hours, after which fal.ai permanently deletes it (see fal.ai's privacy policy).
• Your device: photos remain in your local gallery only if you choose to save the generated portrait via the in-app Save button.

3.5. Your consent

Before sending any photo to fal.ai for the first time, the app asks for your explicit consent via an in-app dialog that names the third-party service (fal.ai) and summarizes the points above. If you decline, the AI transformation feature is unavailable. You may revoke consent at any time from the app's Settings, after which subsequent transformations require renewed consent.

3.6. What we do NOT do with face data

• No face recognition, biometric matching, or identity verification.
• No emotion or demographic analysis.
• No model training using your photos.
• No selling, monetization, or advertising use.
• No linking to identity, account, email, or device fingerprint — the app has no account system.

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver the photo transformation, we rely on:

• Cloudflare Workers — as our proxy server. As part of delivering the service, Cloudflare may process connection metadata (IP, timestamp, request size) for its own security purposes. See their Privacy Policy.
• fal.ai — our AI portrait generation provider. Your photo and the generated result are transiently transmitted to fal.ai's servers for the duration of processing. See their Privacy Policy.

These providers process your data solely to deliver the service; they do not use it for marketing, advertising, or training (subject to their own policies).

5. Security of Your Photos

• All communication occurs over HTTPS (TLS 1.3).
• Our proxy server keeps the AI provider's API key confidential; it is never present on the client side.
• Before transmission, photos are downscaled in-app (max 2048px, JPEG q85) so that excess resolution does not cross the network.

6. Children's Privacy

Ottoman Studio is not designed for children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact yds5000kelime@gmail.com.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not maintain accounts or persistent identifiers tied to you, we do not hold personal data on our servers that could be subject to a deletion request. Data on your device (saved portraits, gallery history) is entirely under your control and is removed when you uninstall the App.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. Subsequent versions of the App will link to this page for the current version.
